We already know that Apple will be launching three new iPhone’s this year: iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus and the special 1oth anniversary edition iPhone 8. iPhone 8 is going to be the premium device which will feature top notch specs and a curved OLED display which will give the device the true edge-to-edge display look. New reports suggest that Apple will be adopting the OLED panels for the rest of the iPhone lineup starting next year and by 2019 all iPhones will have the OLED displays.

This information comes from the Korean publication, the Bell. The report suggests that Apple’s new supplier, Interflex is planning to construct a new production facility for new flexible printed circuit boards (FPCBs).

FPCB connects chips to parts such as displays and cameras. Apple will secure the part for its new OLED iPhone from three Korean suppliers, including the Samsung unit, Interflex and BH

In 2017 Apple is planning to sell about 60 million OLED devices which will make up about 40% of their new iPhone sales. The adoption to the OLED will increase and in 2019 the company will fully shift to OLED displays.

Apple has some big plans for iPhone 8/ iPhone X. The company knows that their premium anniversary edition iPhone will be quite popular among consumers given its redesign. The smartphone will be ‘feature-rich‘. Apple for this device will be getting rid of their home button which will give way to slim bezels, similar to what Samsung has achieved with Galaxy S8. But Apple says that their OLED display will be curved from all sides. Along with that a on screen embedded finger print scanning technology or a facial recognition technology and wireless charging will be used. This will push the price of iPhone 8 upto $1000. Apple is justifying the price hike given the features they will be equipping it with.
