With the Mobile World Congress 2017 just around the corner, we are getting to know what different companies will show at the event. From high-end flagships to entry level devices, all will be in attendance at the MWC. As ASUS had been mum over their MWC plans, we thought that maybe this time around they have decided to skip the show. Well that doesn’t seem to be the case, ASUS  will be unveiling ASUS Zenfone 3 Go at the MWC.

ASUS no doubt stunned at the CES with their ASUS  Zenfone AR smartphone which combines both VR and AR capabilities. Well, if you are expecting something like that for the MWC, then you are in for a disappointment as Zenfone 3 Go is a budget smartphone. Back in 2015 the company announced the ‘Go’ series as their budget lineup by introducing Zenfone 2. Now it looks like that Asus will be reviving the ‘Go’ series with their new smartphone.

In terms of specs, Asus Zenfone 3 Go will feature a 5-inch 720 p resolution display. Under the hood, the device will be equipped with Snapdragon 410 processor along with a 2GB RAM and 16 GB of internal setup. As far as the camera specs go, expect the smartphone to sport a 13-megapixel main and 4-megapixel front facing camera. Zenfone 3 Go will have a metal body which will give it a premium look at an affordable price point as the it is expected to retail at $150.

One of the trends that we can see at the MWC this time around is that not only are companies working on flagships but are focusing on entry level smartphones too, like HMD Global will be announcing Nokia 3 which is also expected to retail at $140. Budget smartphones have a very strong demand in Asian markets, and the shift in providing consumers which good specs even in the budget category is promising.
