Apple iPhone SE roundup

Apple is set to release a brand new smartphone on coming Monday. This smartphone will be an enhanced version of the iPhone 5s and will be called the iPhone SE. Below is a roundup of all the alleged details about the upcoming device.

The outer design of the iPhone SE has been in controversial since the very start. Earliest rumors suggested that the smartphone might feature outlooks similar to the iPhone 5s. Later on, reports surfaced claiming that the iPhone SE will be manufactured in an image of the latest iPhone 6s. But now, apparently, the rumors have shifted back to the older claims. Reports are that we’ll be seeing a modernized 5s on Monday. In other words, iPhone SE will carry a rectangular design with chamfered edges. We might be getting the rounded volume rockers used in iPhone 5 series. In addition to that, the power/lock key will move back to the top while the back panel will feature a glass-metal combo previously seen in the 5 series.

Although the upcoming smartphone will look similar to the iPhone 5s, its internal hardware is a whole different story. The iPhone SE will feature the latest Apple A9 chip which was introduced in iPhone 6s series. This primary chip will be accompanied by M9 co-processor for always-on Siri. A credible Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the iPhone SE will feature a 12 megapixel rear snapper instead of the previously rumored 8 megapixel camera. Mr Kuo further speculated that the upcoming smartphone will be somewhere in between $400 to $500 and will be offering two different storage options –16GB and 64 GB. Furthermore the device will pack a 1642 mAh battery along with Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi 802.11ac under the hood. Despite the lack of 3D Touch, it will reportedly offer LivePhotos. NFC and Apple Pay are both said to be supported, along with Touch ID.

We are expecting two more major releases on the day – Apple iPad 3 and an upgraded Apple Watch. The newer iPad will basically be targeting those customers who’d love the performance capabilities of the iPad Pro minus the 12.9″ screen size and sky-high price. Therefore the iPad 3 will be running a A9X chipset along with 4GB of RAM, feature quad-speakers while support compatibility with Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. As far as the refreshed Apple Watch is concerned, reports are that the new watch might surface with Apple FaceTime support.
