We have seen unveiling of flagships by almost all major smartphone manufacturers including Samsung, LG, HTC and Sony. Therefore, every eye is now focused on what the Cupertino company will have in store for them. Apple will, most probably, be releasing its 2016 flagships in September. The devices will probably be named: Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus. As the release is coming closer, rumors and leaks have started to pour in. The latest one claims that the base variant of the iPhone 7 will be feature 32GB of internal storage capacity and 2GB of RAM. This means that Apple might have finally decided to ditch the 16GB minimum for good.
The news came from IHS Technology, where Kevin Wang (Director of Market Reasearch) did some “supply chain research,” only to find that 32GB storage and 2GB RAM will be the specifications of the base model.
Apart from the above mentioned report, we have heard talks of a smart connector’s presence in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Recently, new schematics of these smartphones yet again confirmed the previously leaked rumor. In addition to that, those diagrams claimed that the awaited line-up will feature smartphones which are 1mm thicker from their predecessors, probably owing to to a larger battery size. This must also be mentioned that the smartphones will have identical height and width as their predecessors, however the iPhone 7 Plus will feature a dual camera setup at its back whereas the smaller sibling will come standard with a single sensor on its rear panel.
Few days ago, some leaked CNC plates confirmed the screen sizes of both smartphones – 4.7-inch for iPhone 7 and 5.5-inch for iPhone 7 Plus. In addition to that, it was clearly visible from the plates that both handsets will feature iSight camera with larger lens. This means the devices will have larger aperture, thus allowing better image quality in low light conditions. On the other hand, another important feature had been confirmed, the dual camera module of iPhone 7 Plus. Note that the renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI securities was the first one to claim this feature would be a part of Apple iPhone 7 Plus. He said that Apple iPhone 7 Plus will be offered in different variants. There will be an edition of the 7 that will, allegedly, feature a dual camera system on its back. These lens are to be manufactured by Sony and are expected to be of 12 megapixels each. One of the lens will host a larger aperture than the other and will be accompanied by OIS. The other lens will be equipped by 2-3x optical zoom. Almost a year ago, Apple was given a patent for the exact photographic setup mentioned above. Moreover, Apple also acquired an Israeli imaging company LinX which will allow Apple to produce cameras to produce DSLR quality photographs for its smartphones.
