Android to ditch Messaging app

We heard that Google will be abandoning the Messaging app all together. Yet another evidence to it has emerged. The rumor has it that the Google Hangouts will manage all your SMS, MMS and Chat after the Hangouts version 1.3. This is probably when Android 4.4 will be rolled out.

With the update, all of your texts will appear in Google Hangouts app and you will be able to share texts, images and videos through it. There will be a stamp representing any message sent through MMS/SMS just like in Viber.

However, no word on if it will replace the Messaging app on all the devices has been uttered. It has been believed that if it doesn’t replace the messaging app on all devices, then the update might first be pushed in on the Nexus line. We can’t actually say.. Lets just wait.
