Big day for the Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 owners. Samsung has finally started rolling out the might Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S4 I9500 users in Russia. Android 5.0 Lollipop happens to be the biggest iteration in the history of Android as it carries the biggest UI changes after the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and there are some major changes in the core of the operating system that make it fast, battery efficient, stable, bug free and much more secure as compared to the previous Android version. There’s a plethora of features to try out, the new UI is named as Material Design.
It took quite long for Samsung to start rolling out the update for its flagship devices, the reason was revamping TouchWiz UI according to the newly introduced Material Design UI by Google. We saw the update rolling out for Galaxy S5 first of all, then it came out for Galaxy Note 3 owners in Russia and finally it’s the turn for the Galaxy S4. There has been a number videos showing the Android 5.0 Lollipop preview, but now that the update is out, you may flash it on your Galaxy S4 right away and test it by yourself.
Samsung will remove bloatware in this update to make more room in the device’s storage. Apart from the graphical changes, there are performance enhancements, heads-up notifications, new lockscreen, enhanced battery life and other features. The update is rolling out through OTA to the Russian S4 I9500 owners at the moment, and will be available through Kies anytime. Those who can’t wait for this update to hit their region, they can wait for the firmware files to surface over the web and flash using Odin3 right away. The Russian nature of firmware won’t restrict it for the Russian users only, S4 I9500 owners all around the world can flash this update manually using Odin3.
We will be posting a guide on how to update your device to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop as soon as we get our hands on the firmware files. Stay connected with us in the meanwhile.
