Almost all Sony Xperia Z2 and Z3 models have now been updated to Android Marshmallow

Couple of weeks ago, Sony started rolling out Android v3.0.1 Marshmallow for Beta Program owners of Xperia Z2 and Z3. However, few particular models were deprived of this upgrade. But fret not, Sony just released a new update which allows almost every smartphone and tablet in the Z2 and Z3 series to get their share of the latest OS.

The update released today carries the build number 23.5.A.0.570 and is targeting a rather large number of recipients, namely the Xperia Z2 (D6502), Xperia Z3 (D6646, D6653), Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633), Xperia Z3 Compact (D5833) and Xperia Z2 Tablet (SGP511, SGP512, SGP521). The update sizes to about 900 megabits and will upgrade the aforementioned smartphones to Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. However, this should be mentioned that, probably due to some technical issues, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact has been excluded from the list of devices eligible for the upgrade.

Note that the Xperia Z5 series, Z4 Tablet and Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3 (D6603), Xperia Z2 (D6503) and Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803) have already received Marshmallow upgrades from Sony.
