Alcatel revealed two new eye-catching yet affordable smartphones

France based Alcatel-Lucent jointly ventured with Chinese TCL and came up with something literally amazing. The company just announced its all new Idol 4 series which consists of two variants, namely Idol 4s and Idol 4. These smartphones will be a featuring a metal frame with an amazing glass body which its nothing less than an eye-candy.

Although both devices look almost similar, they are completely different with respect to size and performance capabilities. Alcatel Idol 4 comes with a 5.2″ display packed with 1080 x 1920 pixel screen while being powered by the Snapdragon 617 chipset. Coming towards the other variant, Idol 4s features a 5.5″ Quad HD display with a more powerful Snapdragon 652 chip.

Needless to say, these phones aren’t packed with top of the line hardware as the upcoming Galaxy S7, S7 edge and LG G5, rather these are designed to suit the needs of more budget conscious customers. One thing that definitely stands out of the crowd is that the retail box of the smartphones literally transforms into a Virtual Reality headset in which the devices can be plugged.

Moving towards an in-depth comparison of the devices, we see that both devices will be running the Android Marshmallow. As mentioned earlier, Alcatel Idol 4S will feature a 5.5″ QHD display while Idol 4 will come with a 5.2″ FHD screen. Idol 4S will be powered by the Snapdragon 652 while the other variant will be using Snapdragon 617 for the purpose. Both smartphones will pack the same 3GB RAM and 8MP front camera. As far as the rear camera is concerned, 4S will feature a 16 MP rear cam while its younger brother will carry a 13 MP sensor. To talk about the storage capacities of the smartphones, the larger device will offer a 32 GB internal storage while the smaller ones comes with 16 GB storage, though both of them will feature a microSD support. Last but not the least, Idol 4s will be powered by a 3000 mAh juicer while the second variant will offer a 2610 mAh battery to work through the day.

Coming towards the extra features you’ll be getting with the smartphones, both of them will be supporting Quick charge. As claimed, Idol 4s will completely charge in 1.6 hrs while Idol 4 will take about an hour to go through the process. Apart from that both devices will come with a powerful set of stereo speakers (2 x 3.6 Watts). Although this should be noted that these devices wont be supported by the carrier bands available in U.S, rather will we be working perfectly in the rest of the world.

Now guys, we should mention the thing you guys will be dying to know. You can get your Alcatel Idol 4 in amazing bargain price of $280 while the Idol 4s will cost you just $400. These prices are way lower than the standard flagships which almost never fall below $650.
