Alcatel One Plus this year is dabbling with a wearable, and will be introducing a smartwatch called ‘Watch’. Well the company could have made the effort to work on an original name for the device; the given name gives the impression of the wearable being bland and boring, the very opposite of what smartwatches actually are. Design wise the company has gone old school and has given their smartwatch a very classic look, which a lot of people are going to like. Apart from that the wearable will come with four different bands and all of them look good, if the images released by the company are something to go by. Who wouldn’t love to have a variety to spice up their smartwatch for different occasions?
No information regarding its specifications has been made public, they will announce this aspect at the CES. Some of the aspects that the company has discussed are that the smartwatch will have sensor and applications which will allow it to connect with Android smartphones and let users monitor various activities. Apart from that the charging mechanism is built into the band, not clear on how that will work. The company’s spokesperson did say that they have introduced an OS which will be able to give a longer battery life to the device than what the current smartwatches are giving.
Alcatel OneTouch has stated that they wanted to go for a traditional and classic look but it is the specs packed inside the device and a ‘smart price’ that is going to make all the difference. What the company considers a ‘smart price’ is not clear yet. But if Alcatel OneTouch indeed wants to make an impact in the wearable arena, then they have to pack good specs as well as set the price at point at which people consider buying their ‘Watch’.
