Alcatel is known for producing solid budget devices. This year at the MWC the most exciting smartphone that the company announced was Alcatel A5 LED. It was the company take on the modular smartphone concept. Now it looks as if the company is all set to send their next device in the market Alcatel Idol 5S which was rumored to arrive at the MWC. The device was spotted at the GFXBench and last month the device was sighted at GeekBench too.

Now we can get an idea about the specs the smartphone will come with. Alcatel Idol 5S features a 5.2-inch , Full HD display with 1920 x 1080p resolution. Under the hood the device is powered by octa core MediTek Heilo P20 clocked at 2.3GHz. This SoC is paired with a 3GB RAM and 32GB of base storage that can be extended.

The smartphone features a 12MP main camera and a 8 MP front facing camera. The device will be powered by Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The battery capacity is not provided but we will get to know more about this in the coming days as the information starts leaking.

Alcatel is owned by TCL, the company which is also producing BlackBerry devices. It will be interesting to see how TCL strategizes for both the brands that they have under the wings, will the focus be more on BlackBerry as seen at the MWC or has the company strategized what to bring when.
