A Sony bezel-less flagship could finally appear in 2018, but with a Snapdragon 835

There are actual benefits to using a phone with a large number of bezels and the Sony Xperia XZ Premium has shown that. Unfortunately, the company might finally be ditching this design and opting to move forward with the industry. That’s why a bezel-less flagship could be seen in early 2018.

A Sony bezel-less flagship could finally appear in 2018, but with a Snapdragon 835

However, it is quite possible that Sony is still sticking to its omni-balance design principles. Some weeks ago, reports surfaced about a design overhaul for the 2018 lineup. However, it remains to be seen where Sony is heading. Interestingly, some information leaked today confirms that Sony really has changed its design policy.

A screenshot originating from China shows the specifications of a Sony smartphone with the model number H8541. The phone seems to be Sony’s first 2018 flagship. It will have a 5.7-inch display with that impressive 4K resolution. It will also have Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating but here is where the disappointment begins.

The phone will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. Normally, it would be exciting to seeing a Snapdragon 845, but it looks like we could be seeing such a device during MWC 2018. It will also have 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal memory. The measurements of the phone also appear to be interesting.

The phone measures 149 x 74 x 7.5mm. This means it will be thinner and smaller than the Xperia XZ Premium (which has the dimensions of 156 x 77 x 7.9mm). However, there are not a lot of improvements over the Xperia XZ Premium apart from the larger battery, which is 3,420mAh and the bigger screen. Fortunately, The phone will be running Android 8.0 Oreo.

Let’s see how the redesigning goes for the Japanese company. Maybe the Sony H8541 will prove to be a hit with the fans.
