Later Google bought Android Inc. in July 2005 for $50 million. Even after the attainment, the key employees, with Rubin, White and Miner, remained with the company. People assumed after such a step that Google had entered the mobile phone market. Rubin led a team at Google that produced a mobile device platform which was powered by the Linux kernel.

The only Android version that did not get the limelight it deserved. The Android “Honeycomb” 3.0-3.2.6 was released on February 22, 2011. It was preceded by Android “Gingerbread” 2.3.7.
