Couple of days ago, Xiaomi held a public poll to select the name of their upcoming phablet. The had provided their fans with four different options to choose from – Xiaomi Pro, Xiaomi Plus, Xiaomi Big and Xiaomi Max. Apparently the users weren’t happy with the ‘Pro’ and ‘Plus’ as they have already been used by numerous manufacturers. Therefore ‘Max’ and ‘Big’ were the one who got the major proportion of the votes, with ‘Max’ securing the top position with 51.62% upvotes.
Judging from the name options given by the company, we can safely assume that they are working on something really big in size, perhaps even bigger than the 5.9-inch Xiaomi Mi Note phablet they launched last year. However, no specific information on the size has yet been officially unveiled.
Although we haven’t yet received any solid rumors yet, we can expect them to start flowing in soon Xiaomi have already set up the official Xiaomi Max Weibo account. Nevertheless, some anonymous sources claim that the upcoming phablet might feature a gigantic, 6.4-inch QHD screen. Apart from that, further reports suggest that the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 820. Moreover we might also see a fingerprint scanner and full network support for all Chinese carriers. Stay tuned for the latest news.
